Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

CampPulse watches California state park campsites and tells you when one you want becomes available. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not collect.

What we collect

Your account. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an email address and a user identifier. We store the identifier so your watches belong to you. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we never see your real one.

Your watches. The campgrounds, sites and dates you ask us to monitor, and whether you want partial or full-range matches. We need this to do the one thing the app does.

A push token. A device identifier issued by Apple so we can send you a notification. It identifies a device, not you.

Subscription status. If you subscribe, we store which plan you are on and when it expires, plus two identifiers Apple gives us to recognise your subscription across renewals. We never see your payment details — Apple handles the transaction and tells us only whether it succeeded.

Operational logs. Each time our watcher runs it records what it checked and any errors. These are deleted automatically after 30 days.

What we do not collect

Your location never leaves your device. The nearby search uses your location to measure distance against a list of campgrounds already bundled inside the app. That calculation happens on your phone. We do not receive it, store it, or transmit it anywhere.

There is no analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracker. We do not know which screens you open or how long you use the app.

We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else is involved

Notifications

We send a push notification only when a site you are watching becomes available, or if there is a problem with the service. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time; the app keeps working, you simply will not be told.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your watches stay until you delete them or delete your account.

You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. That removes your account, your watches and your push tokens. Subscription records Apple requires us to retain for accounting may persist; billing questions go to Apple.

Children

CampPulse is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
